Colorless crystals, deliquescent. Relative density 2.065. Melting point 36.4°C. Dissolves in its own water of crystallization when heated to about 37°C. Soluble in water and ethanol. Aqueous solution is weakly acidic. Oxidizing properties: contact with combustible materials may cause fire. Harmful if ingested.
