China Calcium Nitrate: Nourish. Strengthen. Transform Suppliers, Exporter

Highly soluble in water, methanol, and ethanol, calcium nitrate is highly hygroscopic in air and acts as an oxidizing agent. It has a relative density of 1.860 and a melting point of 45°C. When heated to 150°C, it dehydrates completely to form anhydrous calcium nitrate. At 500°C, it decomposes into calcium nitrite and releases oxygen; further heating breaks it down into calcium oxide and nitrogen oxide gases. It is also soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, methyl acetate, and liquid ammonia. Due to its hygroscopic nature, calcium nitrate readily absorbs moisture from the air. It is primarily used as an antifreeze agent, a coagulant in the rubber industry, and in the production of electron tubes, analytical reagents, sulfate and oxalate testing, pyrotechnic materials, electronics, instrumentation, and metallurgy.

Product Description

Precautions

Packaging must be moisture-proof and sealed. It must not be transported or stored with organic materials or sulfur. Store in a cool, well-ventilated area with temperatures not exceeding 28°C. During transportation, protect from rain and direct sunlight. Strictly avoid mixing or transporting with acids, flammables, organic substances, reducing agents, self-igniting materials, or moisture-sensitive compounds.

Applications

Industrial: Used as a coagulant for rubber latex, a refrigerant, an antifreeze agent for cement, a phosphating agent in the steel industry, and in petroleum drilling and wastewater treatment. In light industry, it is used to produce fireworks and incandescent lamp mantles. In defense, it is used in explosives. In electronics, it is applied as a cathode coating and serves as a raw material for other nitrates.

Agricultural: A fast-acting compound fertilizer rich in nitrogen and calcium, ideal for acidic soils. It provides rapid supplementation of calcium and nitrogen through irrigation or foliar spraying, enhancing crop resilience, promoting early maturation, and improving the quality of fruits and vegetables. It is widely used for base application, top dressing, fertigation, and foliar spraying, and is also suitable for hydroponic nutrient solutions. The calcium ions in calcium nitrate help improve soil physical properties over time without causing degradation.
